Copper & Palm Fiber Woven Bracelets by Hijade.
Handwoven on the Pacific Coast of Colombia by Wounaan Indian women.
To make these braceletes men first gather leaves from the werregue palm tree. Women then carefully pull the thin fibers from each palm leaf, wash and dry them.
The fibers are then dyed using a variety of plants and minerals.
Each bracelete is carefully woven in designs that represent animals, myths and nature from the Colombian jungle.
